Cheap Single Pushchairs

The Babyzen Yoyo stroller is a good option if you are on a budget and don't require a stroller that can be used as car seat carriers. It comes with a simple one-step foot brake that's flip-flop friendly.

It's simple to push, and it feels solid when you are navigating kerbs and woodland paths. It's also a breeze to fold.

1. Babyzen YOYO2

The Babyzen YOYO2 has earned itself a reputation as the ultimate light-weight buggy for city dwellers and jet-setters alike, due to its nimble maneuverability and fold that fits in the overhead luggage of aeroplanes. The latest version has independent suspension on all 4 wheels comprised of Hytrel elastomer, which allows it to  effortlessly traverse all terrains and types'.

The YOYO2 frame base with a curved fabric bassinet as well as a six-month colour pack come together to make a stylish and elegant pushchair that's easy on the eye, with a subtle but elegant design and a tasteful branding. The frame's weight is less than a kilogram, and is so light that you can lift it out of the box with just one hand.

The hood, as an example is able to snap onto the YOYO2 in a reassuring way. It is machine washable up to 30 degrees, which helps to prevent staining caused by smushed and mashed rice cakes and carrot puffs. The Newborn Pack and bassinet can be used from birth as a pram. It can also be converted into a stroller at 6 months by using the YOYO connect to additional chassis.

2. Evenflo Pivot Xplore

The Evenflo Pivot Xplore is a great choice for parents who are looking for a versatile stroller wagon. The Evenflo Pivot Xplore can be transformed from a stroller to the wagon by turning the handle. Parents can then select which one is the best fit for their needs. The wagon is able to accommodate one or two children from 6 months to 5 years old. It has a huge storage basket that can hold all your necessities when you are on the move.

The Xplore comes with two canopy options that can rotate from front to back, offering adequate sun protection for the entire family. It also has a footwell that's not as deep or large as some wagons, so it might not be comfortable for long trips or napping.

The frame of the Xplore wagon feels solid and sturdy, however, it isn't able to bend like other wagons we have tested. It is also more difficult to fold than many of the competitors and does not lock tightly when folded. It is easy to move however, and can fit through doors that are narrower than 28 inches.

3. Delta Children LX Side-by-Side

This bare-bones double stroller from Delta Children is an excellent choice for parents looking for an affordable second stroller for their travels. It scored highly in our Strollers and Multiples Test for its weight and folded dimensions, meaning it is lightweight, compact when folded, and easy to move and store in a trunk for your car. It also features a reclined seat that can be reclined in several positions as well as cup holders for the parent. Other features worth mentioning include two large hanging storage bags as well as 360-degree shock-absorbing front wheels.

It performed better in our push and turn test than most of the strollers we tested, but was still difficult to maneuver over uneven ground or through narrow doors. The sunshades it has are among the ones we tested the smallest, providing only direct overhead coverage and no peekaboo windows. The UPPAbaby G-Link 2 and Zoe Twin+ have much larger sunshades.

The Delta took us just under 3 minutes to assemble with an average manual and no components required tools. However, it is missing some essential features that we believe you should not compromise on for a double stroller like a large basket and reclining seats with adjustable leg rests.

4. Maxi-Cosi Zelia 2-in-1

The Zelia is Maxi-Cosi's newest pushchair and is marketed as an urban travel system. It is designed to take baby from birth up to approximately 3.5 years, converting easily into a seat and carrycot in just only a few clicks. It can be used with Maxi Cosi capsule car seats. It comes with a light Mico 30 infant seat, a stay-in car-base and reversible carriage.

It is really easy to maneuver, and the one-hand reclining of the seat and the huge shopping basket make it simple for parent-tots to get the child out and in quickly. Despite being a narrow pushchair it handled the bumps of everyday life well and slid through doors without any fuss.

The front wheels can to be locked in a forward direction, or they can pivot. This is useful when navigating rough terrain. We let the front wheels to swivel on our walk along a stony path. It handled the situation well, although it seemed a little rougher.

5. Baby Jogger City Tour 2

Baby Jogger is best known for its 3-wheeled all-terrain, strollers for jogging. But they also make a broad selection of pushchairs with four wheels. The City Tour 2 is one of their most loved models. It folds easily and fits into the boot of a car even with an attached carrycot.

It is heavier than the other strollers that we test, but since it comes with rubber composite wheels, it feels sturdy and well-constructed. It maneuvers expertly across different types of terrain. It's easy to move even with two children and a shopping bag.

Both the carrycot and seat have hoods that are able to be lower to reveal a UV50+ sun canopy extensions. They are water-resistant and durable, unlike some other prams' hoods that get bounced back into toddlers' faces.

It does not have much storage space but it has an ample basket that is deep enough to hold a change bag or plenty of food. It can also be connected with the Baby Jogger infant car seat to create a travel system for babies up to 20 pounds (car seat and adapters are sold separately). The seat is reclined in several positions. It comes with a built-in double breathable mattress that is suitable for babies from birth.

The canopy/seat comes with two large sun visors, which can be fixed or removed. Both are UPF50+. The toggle closure isn't ideal as it’s not as quiet as Velcro and could awaken napping babies.

It can be used with two infant car seats and some carrycots.
